Dr. Jeni Vela was born in Weslaco, Texas and grew up in the small border town of Progreso, Texas. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas-Pan American in 2005. She then attended medical school and received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2009. In 2013, she completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. She is an active member of the Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. Her clinical interests include obstetrics, endometriosis, symptomatic fibroid uteri, PCOS and menopause. During her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading and outdoor activities.
Carla is a nationally certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. She began her nursing career as a registered nurse in California in 1999. She went on to train as a labor and delivery nurse and completed five years as a L&D and circulation nurse. In discovering that she wanted to advance her training and education in Women's Health, she went on to complete her training as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in 2005. She has successfully completed her MSN degree and has been certified in colposcopy. She is dedicated to continuing to advance her knowledge and providing exceptional patient care. In her leisure time she enjoys cooking, dancing, painting and spending time with her husband and children. She has been part of the Alamo Women's Health family since 2010.
Dr. Jennifer M. Arzola was born in McAllen, TX and raised in Edinburg Texas. She attended the Univserity of Texas at Austin and obtained a BA in biology in 1996. After obtaining her BA in Austin, Dr. Arzola worked as a research assistant in Galveston for 2 years prior to entering medical school. She received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2003. Dr. Arzola then attended residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at University Hospital in San Antonio and completed her training in June 2007. She is an active member of Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Christine, recent graduate from UTHSCA is the newest addition to our family. She has made an immediate impact with excellent surgical skills and hardwork. She was raised in Herndon, Virginia and studied at William and Mary. She is married to fellow graduate and pediatrician Dr. Ryan Van Ramshorst.
Carlos was born in Laredo Texas and moved to San Antonio with his adopted grandparents at age 4. He quickly learned to be a devoted San Antonio Spurs after watching his first game at Hemisfair Arena. He attended school at South San West Campus, moved on to Palo Alto College where he became president of the Alpha Theta Pi honor society. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with Bachelor of Science premed. He attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio under a full scholarship form the U.S. Navy and received his Doctorate of Medicine degree. He completed his Obstetrics & Gynecology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. In total, he spent 16 years with the U.S Navy, having been stationed in Europe, Asia and throughout the United States. He left active duty service as Lt Commander and returned home to take care of his hometown folk. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, board certified OBGYN. He is affiliated with Texas Medical Association, American College of OBGYN, Bexar County Medical Society, Mexican American Hispanic Physicians Association. He is the current Secretary-Treasurer for Section V, District XI representing San Antonio in advocating women's health issues. He is robotically trained surgeon. He is most proud of his children and the wonderful job raising them by his wife, Christie. He is full scope OBGYN doctor with specialization in minimally invasive surgical techniques and is a robotically trained surgeon.
Dr. Jennifer Chiles was born and raised in Rockville, Maryland where she lived until she received her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Maryland, College Park. She then moved to Blacksburg, Virginia to obtain her Doctor of Osteopathy at the Virginia College of Osteopathy. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. After residency, she moved to San Antonio with her husband, who in the United States Army. She is loving the community and weather in Texas. Dr. Chiles is trained in all aspects of obstetric and gynecologic care, minimally invasive surgeries, to high risk obstetrics. She enjoys giving personalized, supportive care, in a friendly environment, to women of all backgrounds. She enjoys developing a relationship with her patients and focusing on women's health issues through every phase of their lives. In her free time, Dr. Chiles loves spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She also enjoys watching movies, ballroom dancing, and baking.
Dr. Shawna Wall was born in San Angelo Texas and grew up in Mertzon, Texas. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Angelo State University in 1997. She worked in sports medicine for 2 years before starting medical school. She received her Doctorate of Medicine from University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2003. She then completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency training in 2007 form University Hospital in San Antonio. She then spent the last few years as a postdoctoral fellow researching immunologic treatment of ovarian cancer at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She is an active member of the Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her interest is in preventative care. She is married with 2 children and enjoys travel, outdoor activities and cooking.
Dr. Rene Perez was born and raised in Harlingen, TX. He attended the University of Baylor in Waco, TX and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and minored in Biology & Environmental Studies in 1999. During his attendance at Baylor, Dr. Perez was a research assistant for four professors in three different departments. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2003. Dr. Perez then attended residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at University Hospital in San Antonio and completed his training in June 2007. He is an active member of Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Associations and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
