 Prenatal testing

o   1st trimester testing for fetal anomalies

​   First Trimester (conception to 12 weeks):

  • Early Vaginal Ultrasound helps accurately determine the due date

           of the pregnancy.

  • Counseling on nutrition and weight gain (link to patient education)
    vitamin supplements, exercise, and genetic screening

  •   Identify and reduce risks for birth defects
  • Baseline Labs (Includes:)

​      - Complete blood count (CBC)
            - Diabetes Screen
- Hepatitis Screen
- HIV Screening
​ - Syphilis Screening

  • Appointments occur once per month then change according to your pregnancy progression

o  2nd trimester testing for fetal anomalies

   Specialized testing for Cystic fibrosis and genetic abnormalities

   Progenity testing

        -  Panorama noninvasive testing

        -  Horizon noninvasivetesting for Cystic Fibrosis, Spinal Muscular Atrophy

        -  Sequenom testing

Basic and Comprehensive Obstetrical Anatomy ultrasounds

Second Trimester (12 weeks to 28 weeks)

  • Tetra Screen   A genetic test to determine the presence of chromosomal abnormalities, including Down Syndrome, and Spina Bfida.
  • Detailed Level II ultrasound- detailed fetal exam
  • Diabetes screening
  • Appointments occur once per month then change according to your pregnancy progression

Third Trimester (28 weeks to 40 weeks/Delivery):

  • Close monitoring of fetal growth
  • Amniotic fluid monitoring
  • Screening for depression
  • Fetal monitoring (non-stress test) in office if indicated
  • Counseling and preparation for method of delivery, birth plan
  • Appointments occur once every 1-2 weeks and this may change according to your pregnancy progression

Post-Partum Care: Including evaluation of abdominal incision (c-section only)

  • 6 week post-partum office visit for counseling, exercise, and screening and treatment for post-partum depression
  • Discuss and initiate contraception
  • Monitor and support breast feeding


​High risk pregnancies

  • ​Hypertension, Preeclampsia (high blood pressure)

  • Advanced age (>35 years old at time of delivery)

  • Previous cesarean delivery

  • Higher order pregnancy (Twins, Triplets)

  • Gestational Diabetes, Diabetes Mellitus

  • Chronic Medical Condition that may affect growth of baby
